Final Deal...Should I Buy It Tomorrow?
There were 2 on C-List that looked good. 1 in Gainsville and 1 in Herndon. (well the one in Gainsville isn't there right now).
But i am not one to talk - I flew to Birmingham,AL a month ago to buy an '01.
I think its hard to find a great deal in the DC area....

Funny, I saw and drove the car on Saturday. I didn't think it was that bad, but they wouldn't budge on the listed price $44k. There are few scratches for sure, and the interior is not anything special. The DME report looked okay. Still debating whether to purchase it or not. How did you get them off the list price? May be the trade in makes a difference?
Also...did you look at the engine bay? Looks like this car has been stored outside behind a barn for 5 years. Yes, the price started at $53999 and dropped $10K in two months. The car is ok...but I would list it as "average". I'd say it was worth about $38K.

I've looked at cars like that before as well and it amazes me that some people/dealerships wont take a little extra time/effort to properly detail a car and keep it that way. It may not reflect the mechanical condition of the vehicle but it makes a first impression on a potential buyer and we know how important first impressions are.
Agreed, probably worth 39-40. So I decided to pass on the car. I was a little worried about the clutch as well. plus the Vin decoder shows touring suspension, so not interested in that as well.
I saw that on the VIN, too. I'm passing on it. I was really annoyed at my visit there today. Apparantly Ron was waiting on a call from you asured you were going to buy it. Thus I got the cold shoulder. So I left. Then they called me back at 2 PM wondering what happened. I told them to wash the damn car and clean the leaves out of it...it might have been ok when you went on Saturday...but this AM the car was absolutely filthy. The mileage increased a bit, too, I noticed. Maybe it was taken for a ride Sunday.
Check AutoTrader...like I said there are two really nice 2002/2003 996TTs with about 20K miles that can be had for about $49K. One is in Cleveland and the other is in NJ. Both have upgraded wheels and sport exhaust. Interiors are ok on them...average.

I have my 2004 996 TT for sale. $62,500 silver with silver leather, nav, sunroof, 9,100 miles. Interior still smells new. I am second owner. New alternator, power steering reservoir, all fluids changed. Work performed by Rodger at Orbit Racing.
He says it's one of the best kept cars he has ever seen.
I am selling because we can't make it fit with our family lifestyle. Wife loves it for date night. I needed this as my daily driving car, but I put too many miles and would ruin this particular vehicle as much as I drive.
It's just that good. PM or email for more info.
