B&m is just a shaft you install into your stock shifter cage last i checked.
Yes. I had a B&M prior to the 997SSK. The B&M was utter garbage in comparison. I would not waste money on it. I can't recall what the ratios were as I removed the B&M from the car right away. The OEM 997SSK is a very nice shifter and much better than the B&M on all fronts. Just plain works well. I ended up selling the OEM 997SSK for $350. It sold in about 2 hours...

I'm sure you have answered this before, but how does the (996?or 997?)gt3 cup shifter compare to the 997ssk.?

The factory 996Cup shifter is a race part and as such uses metal bushings on all the critical load bearing areas. That gives it very much a "rifle bolt" feel to it especially when combined with the thick all metal cup cables. I feel that is the ultimate set up for these cars. The Cup shifter has longer throws than the 997SSK. All the GT3/2 shifters (996/997) will have slightly longer throws than the 997SSK as they are designed to be used in conjunction with the shorter non-counter weighed gearbox selector lever that comes on all GT2/3/cup gearboxes. The shorter lever can be retrofitted onto the TT gearbox.

Numeric is also an option. Stainless steel sealed bearings everywhere and an aluminum CNC body. Not a difficult install. They sell cables as well if you want to further remove slop from the shifting but I felt no need to do so after installing mine. Shift ratio is adjustable though if you go for the shortest you must trim a bit of carpet under the shifter so allow for the throw. No complaints with mine at all but it's not cheap.
