Blowing IC hose off letting OFF throttle?

So this is the second time it's happened, and I'm not sure why or how. So last night I got on the throttle for a short quick romp down the road, as I let off throttle I heard a pop (just like last time) turned out I blew off my lower passenger IC hose. Coming off throttle... What's that about? It held a bunch of WOT pulls all night, then pops as I'm letting off? The first time I popped an IC hose, it happened the same way.

Why?

The only thing I can think is it backfires usually when I give it quick throttle then let off. Could that be backfire pressure blowing my hose? ( I really need to get a new tune)

Check your DV, sounds like it might be shut on decel, so the boost has no place to go..hence blown IC pipe.

So that would be a gummed up or simply old diverter valve huh? How do I "check" them? They apparently work fine the rest of the time. How do I check em and what are good replacement dv?

All good advise. Also check for a bad coupler on that hose. Maybe it's a week joint.
Good luck

As Sam stated it could also be your "F" hose; they are prone to splitting from the heat contraction. As far as the dv's; if yours are the "billet" ones then they do require a rebuild after sometime. Everyone on here recommends the Bosch 710N.

It has happened twice, this second time was after evoms clubsport and boost hose/ F hose install. So all couplers and hoses were new. The pressure actually sheared the metal coupler. Snapped it, popping off that end of the hose. Held boost fine and only did this during a full boost acceleration then quick off-throttle. So if it is diverter valve, shouldn't it do this all the time?

I'm familiar with the 710N. Used em on my Audi. Are there easy identifiers for the dv to know what I have?

Thanx for the help!

I would go back and recheck all the new clamps/couplers you installed; it is possible that one isn't fitted on 100%; and you can also spray some hairspray on the inside of the coupler where it meets the male end of the pipe you are trying to sleeve it over; it acts as a glue. Well it might take alot of force/boost to do it and since it only does it during decel that tells me that the boost isn't being bleed off so it blows the coupler to expell the boost.

The DV's should have some sort of engravement that is on the anodizing of the finish; unless of course your on stock dv's...then you def need to upgrade them.

Everyone I talk to says the 710n are the way to go and don't require a rebuild like the "billet" aftermarket ones everyone on here advertises. Im sure they are leaking if your still on stock dv's w/A28s.

If you have stock hoses check the clamps... replace the O ring... what boost you running?
what ICs and what hoses?
even at 1.6 bar that should hold.. I have a feeling something is loose....
