I have raced an z06 and he beat me by 1 car length.

You can see my mods in the signature.

Ok that makes perfect sense to me too....

The reason I ask is that I just recently purchased a 2001 tt.

The previous owner bought it from a lambo dealer that took it in on trade.... so teh mods are basically unknown.

I see that it boosts to 1.1 bar. Has an evoms intake and a speedtech 70mm twin high flow exhaust. That's all I can see....

Tonight I walked a c6 z06. It was close, but I was definetly pulling away from him slowly.

Is there a chance I have an upgraded turbo setup? Is there any way to find out without pulling the turbos>?

Damn mike, you were flyin'.....

Op: I've crushed plenty of c6 zo6's...from roll a on, so its kind of hard to compare, especially since I'm a x50.

It takes a skilled driver to extract all available acceleration from a Z06, even from a roll. Slow shifts, short shifts...they can all have an effect.

I would say with a proper driver, no, a stock C6 Z06 will have an advantage from a roll. With an average or lesser driver, you'll have the advantage.

I can offer this less useful (but real-world) comparison. The day I bought my 996TT I also test drove a modified C6 Z06.

As far as I know, the C6Z had the following mods. Intake, long tube headers, exhaust (again, these are the only visible mods it had, might have been other stuff). The C6Z was noticeably (ie: considerably) faster than my 996TT, which only offers a Gemballa reflashed ECU to 1 bar of boost, stock exhaust. I didn't care for the C6Z overall (despite having formerly owned a C5Z) compared to the 996TT, but the C6Z was incredibly fast and there is no denying it would have steadily walked away from my own 996TT.

I realize your comparison was asking about a stock C6Z versus a more modified 996TT than my own, but that is my actual real-world comparison to share.

Maybe it's because of my 3700ft altitude. It doesn't affect our turbo cars as much right?

That would do it, stock C6Z0's were 112-114mph cars in Albuquerque (~5300ft). I could definately see a flashed + exhaust car edging one out at higher elevations.

Yes...even on the low boost tune (1 bar) I just pulled a newer Viper ACR. On the high boost tune it would be game over. I am at 3400 feet above sea level though.
