My First P-Car, a blurb about my experience and drive home.
I'm starting to really believe this. I have never been in a car that rides this firm yet bounces/floats around on everything the road has to offer. It's kind of annoying really.
Great story - thanks for sharing all the information & photos.
I've been confining my "TT search mode" to local cars (within 100 miles), but I'm going to expand the horizon - getting a good car from a remote location then driving it back sounds inviting. The trip would really add to the experience.

If you have someone that can tag along then look wherever. I bought my buddy a one way ticket to fly out with me, well worth it. Had I done it myself I'd have taken my time, hotel, etc. I just wanted to knock it out in a day.
The trip made the whole experience much more enjoyable. I was able to get a ride in my own car and also open it up a bit. If you ever lose faith that the p-car is starting to feel slow, have someone take you for a ride. I look forward to the upgrades when it cools off here. It's going to be scary
Lovely car, and nice story. I bought mine in a similar way, flew out to Charlotte NC with my wife and drove it back to Indiana. First time I hit the throttle in second gear on an on-ramp my wife looked over at me and said "What have you done?"
Enjoy it. I recently updated the PSS9 package that came on the car with stiffer springs and had Bilstein revalve the shocks. Drop me a PM when you start to think about mods. I've made numerous other suspension changes that make the car work on the track.

dhahlen - excellent story! Thanks for sharing your experience. Very nice looking color combination (I also want to see a picture of the interior).
Amen. Track time should be allowed/required by law.
Congrats! A few years ago I also picked up my car in the Bay Area and drove it solo back home same day. I've done that drive 4 times in the past (bringing the turbo home being the first one-way) and it can be exhausting. With the turbo, it was so easy to squirt adrenaline into my body that I never needed to stop and take an extended rest break. Loved it.
One thing I haven't heard anybody mention yet was how these trips, due to the car's small fuel tank, end up being a crash-course (no pun intended) in the subtleties of 911 fuel management: the wildly changing distance-to-empty calculator, difficulty filling to "F", how not to get sprayback when filling, etc. I think I encountered every one of those issues on that one drive alone.
Looking forward to seeing your car around town if you are in the greater Phoenix area.

Also, I popped in a few gallons and it didn't even register, probably due to do the baffling.
I also filled it until the pump fill level triggered, when I got it I was about 1/8 tank under full. It had only taken about 10.5 gallons.
I generally fill up before I hit 1/4 tank. But yes, I've experienced a couple of these fuel issues.
I work in downtown phoenix, but I live out on the west side.
