Drop Engineering Exhaust?

Has anyone here used the Drop Engineering exhaust system? The price seems good but I cant find much on here about it.

My issue is the price of exhaust for the 996 turbo. I bought longtube headers, catted midpipe and stainless steel catback for 1200 for my 03 Cobra. 996 turbo exhuast systems for 3k+ seems crazy to me.

If your going to compare like that then you own the wrong car. Heck, My old Lambo cost $12K to do the clutch... would I argue with the dealer that my honda is only $800?
A new mustang was $30K... a new turbos was 4 times that....

LMAO , dude its Ford ... are seriously comparing the two? if your bought the car just to drive then fine, but if you bought with the intensions of doing some moding , you picked the wrong car, if you will be comparing the two.

Why should the price of the car impact the cost of mods? I know it does but why? Are you telling me the material costs in the 911 exhaust system cost 5x more then the 03 Cobra materials.

I didn't buy the 996TT to mod it. I'm doing a UMW flash and I wanted an exhaust to get the most out of it, that's all. I love the stock wheels and I don't feel it needs to be lowered. I still have my 650 HP 03 Cobra for raw power.

It's more about supply and demand. Demand is not as high therefore a higher cost. Have to keep margins high enough for the low qty shipped.

That make's sense. I guess not enough 911's buy aftermarket exhaust. We all know every Mustang in the world the 1st mod is exhaust.

I'm going to have to keep my eye out for a used system. I missed out on a Speedtech system on EBay for 1200 a few weeks ago.

Skip. If it were an NA engine you could run a cheap chinese exhaust without an issue. But not with the heat cycles turbo engines see. Markski's exhaust is very nice and he has no issue selling them for the price he asks. And with Markski you are supporting a true porsche enthusiast, not a company that markets exhaust for 30 different car brands. Another option is to get a custom exhaust built at a quality exhaust shop. They could build you one for ~$1500-$2000 depending on cat options that will be very nice. But with a custom one off exhaust you get what you get. The quality will be nice if you get the right shop, but the sound will be a little difficult to predict. This can be difficult if you have a certain sound in mind. If performance is your main concern, a custom one off exhaust will be a good option.

Honest opinion from someone who has owned 5 Porsche 996tt exhausts... You wont be disappointing in this system for the money, it wont cause catostrophic failure of your engine or throw the world off axis. It's a fine muffler with pretty good sound too. I had the same twin can setup under a different label and was perfectly happy with it. I gutted the cats and installed o2 extenders on mine and it really really opened the car up. My tuner said I would be losing power when I switched to a branded 2.5" x-pipe system with cats.
