Since we are on the subject of hoses/fittings... Ill share some of my findings.. and sure we live in a "why should I pay $600 for hoses" when I can get them for $250 from China..
well, I took the liberty of showing you guys a few differences between the 2.
In my hand Im holding the Chinese hose ( left) and the Forge motorsport hose(right). Notice the Chinese one is smaller in ID.. by .4".. and is only 3 ply... which also means that the aluminum fitting is smaller and just because it's being sold does not mean it always fits and or is leak preventive... I have a few sets of them around that I took off client cars because they were not holding boost at the ICs... reason being that the flanges were too smaller ... tabs in slightly different position as well... thus popping off and or fitment issues( I seen personally). Notice the one on the right... 2.2" ID including the ID of the flange and at least 4 ply... this is useful especially when using after market ICs that have bigger ID outlets... Even the material is simply better quality. We can argue about this forever, I agree..
Just take a look at the pics.. judge for yourselves... I actually have both in my hand and one is like a Chinese toy you buy at Walmart when compared to the Forge hose kit... NO COMPARISON... and as far as the flanges.. that's another story because they do not fit in all applications... ( I have the pics somewhere).
I dont want to start a bashing... I am just showing my findings... I actually, had to make custom IC flanges on our ICs just to fit them for a client... I had to take 2 of those hoses.. put them in the IC... plug one side, pressure test from the other.. then and only then I was sure it would hold... but before that I had to do some custom work to the aluminum flange on my IC end tank.. thats what it takes if you want a boost leak proof car among other things. Thus to some of you skilled enough this is no big deal but to a vast many this is a nightmare... and this is why I'm sharing this with you all..

Thanks for sharing!

First off not all Chinese parts are the same. I have not seen these hoses or any of the chinese hoses so I do not have a dog in the fight to be honest. However generally speaking, their are at least a few companies making parts in China and not all are complete garbage. Which of the chinese hoses were these? Which chinese brands have you found issues with? I trust your input and have trusted all of your advise in the past. But I think a clarification of the chinese brand hoses you have seen/had issues with would be helpful so that people don't just start blindly bashing chinese made parts without any data to base it on. Thanks.

Im not blindly bashing Chinese parts...
Im sharing my experience online... what other data would you like? I explained in the above post... I only stay with a handful of trusted brands... this is my personal as well as a business choice. I can sell the cheap ones and make $400 on them but I choose not too. This is not a personal attack by no means...
But I still have yet to see high quality 996tt Asian made hose kit that competes with the really good ones like Samco, etc... If they do exist please stir me that way... just don't show me the ones everyone orders from www.alibaba.com and puts their logo on...

Generally speaking "Made in China, recalled in the US". There's a reason for that. THere are always exceptions but in this case, Markski is spot on.

The point that Im trying to achieve is: if your going to put on low cost colored hoses that are not guaranteed to work every time then your your better off with OEM German. At least it was tested for probably 70K hours before it even hit the ground..

Holy ****!! Someone call off the wolves! I am not questioning Marski's knowledge or honesty. As a matter of fact I respect Marski's input more than most vendors here.

I think you read into what I said and took it the wrong way. I never accused you or anyone of being incorrect nor have I accused you of bashing all of the chinese made products. I just asked for clarification to avoid the blind bashing of products from other people. Many people read these forums and just regurgitate what it says without any thought or experience with it. And if you post that all chinese hoses are crap than that will be regurgitated if it is true or not. I am just asking which brands you found to be bad so that people know to stay away from those brands instead of a blanket avoid all chinese hoses. Seems to me that we should probably avoid brands not country of manufacture. After all, how are we to know which hoses are made in which factory or if said brand is the same as the other fifty variants and if it is good or not?

I know that if you found something is not up to standards than that is the truth. And I am not trying to be critical of you for sharing. In fact I thanked you for that.
