Anyone know this car? Would you buy it?

check the car out.. if it checks out buy it, and drive the dogsh*t out of it. with 50k miles it's ready to drive. walk in with $42k. it's a great price point for these cars now. don't ask me how i know.
Actually, I think he's right. It looks like it says X5C and X5D. Also from what I read it should read M96/71E. If there is no 71E it's not an X50. I'm going to check this out tomorrow.
x5c x5d? .. have no idea what those option codes are, never heard of 'em..maybe it's a volvo?
and i don't trust my eyes again squinting under someones bonnet, but that's where mine said x50. it's not a bad looking car and it's not going to last long sitting on that lot. hope it checks out for ya.

Yeah, after some more research last night it sounds like the car has XSC and XSD. (Porsche logo in headrest, and ***** to adjust seats). Dealer is going to get me the options list today. If it's not an X50 I think there are better deals out there.
If you really like the car otherwise and plan on bigger power X-50 wouldn't matter anyhow, better reasons for bigger discount?
Who knows if this helps, but I don't know why you'd want to let on from the git go that they won't make a penny from financing.
For a private seller it's different-they justifiably don't want the hassle of dealing with a third party.
Trust me, it's unambiguous when you see the lettering for X50 vs that tag. Short of a dealer decode (the online ones don't show X50 or not), you're best bet is to check the intercoolers. Of course those could have been added. Like the muscle cars of the 60s, 70s the "factory installed" special stuff will always have a premium even if the same parts are installed later on a lesser model. Car look badass though. Not crazy about the intermixed carbon fiber/tan. A pure tan or better cinnamon interior looks better IMO
really easy to check for X50... put your hand in the intercooler grooves and touch the surface of the cooler...if it's almost flat and smooth it's not X50 those are the K16 IC cores, if it's corrugated and ribbed on the cores' surface it's X50 with the K24 turbos ... you will know immediately upon touch and the difference is unmistakable, it only takes a second and the salesperson may think you're wierd just tell him you wanted to see what 'dem gosh 'dern holes there in the back are fer
!!!
!!!
Unfortunately it would be hard to do that since the car is in CA and I'm in GA. But the seller found me the original option list and it shows that the car is an X-50. I think I'm going to buy it. So if anybody knows of someone who wants a Stg III S4 in awesome shape shoot me a PM. And a Honda RC51.
