X73 for track????
X73 for track????
I was in Beachwood OH buying a 12 Turbo S last month and met a really great guy named Kellen who was a p tech at that dealership. I told him I had a car (in avatar) similar to a car they had in the shop. The car in shop looked like it was set up for track duty with slicks and low susp.
I mentioned to him that the week link on my car was the pss10's and that I was thinking on buying moton cs but just could not ante up to paying the big bucks. He asked why not the X73? He said he has tuned both susp for the track and the x73 was way better if you don't mind a (set and forget) system.
He invited to take me for a spin in the car with slicks and x73, it also had tpc sways ft/rear and perhaps arms, links not sure the rest. The car height was pretty darn close to my cars if not exactly the same. He took a on ramp that had a 360 deg turn and got on it some. I was thinking "please don't kill me before I get to drive my new Turbo S 1400 miles home".
I could also tell he was an experienced driver so I chilled out. Long story short the x73 though a tad bouncy at the front on the street for regular driving but I could not say it was much more bouncy than the 10's was pretty impressive for a $2k ish system. Kellen's thoughts were, "hey, is was specifically made for the turbo". I tend to agree.
Thoughts?

X-73 rocks. I actually like it because of the factory tuned set-n-forget quality. However, I see at as in-line with a PSS10 set around 3/4 firm. It's a bit firm for the street but nice.
Maybe try tuning on what you have a get a good alignment...

Thanks! Think I am going to raise my car about 1/2 inch or so and get a new align and cb and see how she does. Getting more bump steer than I would like.
Thanks Again!

Post some pics of that guards '12 Turbo S ... let us know what you think about the pdk and LC programs
Oh and the X73 is a great set it and forget it setup! Before I got my GT2 I had an X50 and had I kept that car I was leaning toward the X73 and TPC sways setup...

If I want a RAZORS EDGE I hit sport plus and LOOK OUT MAN, wicked pwr, grip, and sound come alive.
I have done Launch Control once at the strip. I had to wait a few hours for my tummy to drop down from my throwt. Better than any ride at 6 flags I have been on. Love IT!
I had some pics on the 997 forum and have not had a chance to get more. I will try and bring some over.
Moton/AST has a single adjustable suspension setup now as well. I don't know that I would spend 2k on factory dampers and not just spend the rest an get an entry level coilover system like Moton Single, KW V3, JIC, JRZ. I definitely wouldn't run the X73 with slicks.
You will save money doing it right the first time. That is if you track pretty often, or drive the car pretty hard.
