Font used for Porsche lettering on exterior doors

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the font and size used for the Porsche lettering on the doors of the 996 GT2, carrera, Turbo S, etc? I want to have some lettering made up and I wanted to know the font and size. I'm not sure which models have the letter, but when I see them they all seem to be the same size and font, can anyone help?

Also, does anyone know where I can have some lettering made (Custom) that go on the outside of the door?

Thanxs

Darin

i can't tell you what the font is other than it's oem script. i have one of those vinyl decal stickers on mine, was on the car when i got it, so very much a retro look since the script is very old school porsche.

some friends have chuckled over it, but for some strange reason i can't bear to remove it but then there are also some records from the disco era i like so, to each his own.

i think suncoast parts has most of them in stock. just find the one ( turbo? ) that ya wan't on their site. couple hundred bucks, i think.

Thanxs for the advice, but I'm looking for something custom to put on the side of my door like they do at the dealership...except mine will say "Porsche X-50". I may put "Turbo X-50"...not sure yet. That is why I wanted to get the type of font used...I'm goign to go to the dealership and take some pics and measurements...I want this to be as close to Porsche supplied lettering as possible and advertise it is an x-50 car. I think that would look cool...but it is probably just me...

might be worth asking someone to photoshop it first, imo it may look a little tacky, sorry just figured i would give my opinion

ive never heard of a dealership adding graphics to the side of a 996 turbo, didnt know they did that

tacky is the word. ha.. mine is definitely that, but it's growin on me but i have to agree that an x50 sticker's(?!) gonna be worse. but then i once badged my previous x50 with an S and didn't realize the posuer ramifications at the time i loved it, but wouldn't do it again either. to the op. i'd definitely get a mock up of it first too if you can.

You could just order up from this site. kistudios.

I'm PMing you the link, I forgot you can't link to non-sponsors. Sorry. And btw, I've never used them, but had seen a link to them on one of the other Porsche Forums some time ago.

nice plate. i've always wondered who nabbed that. i had to settle for
CA 996TT50.. which still makes sense only me to me

anything with that looks right with x50 is taken as most CA ttx50 owners already know. points for getting there first!

I didn't know that. I should have hit Alex up for a T Shirt too. I'll call Monday see if he's got any left.
