Hi John,

I hit 11.0x several times, back when I was only running about 1.2 - 1.25 bar of boost, but never got the couple of 100th's to make it a 10 - I tried many times. I used a mix of 93 and sunoco 104. Now I am running 1.32+ bar and my car feels quicker than ever, but I retired the car from 1/4 mile passes - it's very rough on it. After a few years of hitting the strip and 50 or 60 passes, I had to replace the rear CV joints, transmission mount and front differencial. I think with drag radials and todays current boost levels people are running, an AWD K24/18G car should definitely be able to hit 10's.

Dissio, a 6 speed member who I helped set up the car ran I think 8 back to back 10s on a 18gs, 5 bar, and some entry level add ons... 1.3 bar on 19s with race gas... but he's a heck of a driver...
trapped I believe low 130s...

Mark, not sure if Dissio is the same as Dmaffo? Dmaffo did several 10's in a row like that, but he told me he gutted the car to do it - removed a lot of stuff inside and out and ran catless straight pipes on C16, so he was very light compared to stock. Dmaffo's runs were really good, though and great to watch!

Hi John,,Thanks for your info...No,I have not went to the track with this car yet..But that is the next thing on my next to do list... I have ran a few genuine low 11 cars from a 1st gear roll for 'around' a 1/4 mile and beat them by a few car lengths....Having a higher redline is a big plus..But as we all know,,a complete stand still start is a different story for getting the best times at the track.....I shall see because I 'has' to know...lol...

You would think with how long and the number of K24/18gs that are out there,,PLUS with all the supporting mods,,more of those modifiers would have pushed them to get into the 10s...I would think the power is their but the driving and launch is the main key??

John,

The 996tt is a tough car to ET well. It is very difficult to get a good 60' time without drag radials. Once they get going, they are very quick. I have seen mustangs go 10's, but only trap low-mid 120's. If you were racing them, they may make it to a 1/4 mile ahead of you, but right after that they would be in the rear view mirror. For some reason, the 996TT is just not the best 1/4 mile platform. A lot of our cars are set up with additional negative camber for handling and this makes it difficult to get a good 60', which is key to a good ET. I think if you want a really good ET with K24/18G's, you have to set the car up with a mix of a few ingredients such as weight reduction, flat alignment, drag radials, 2WD, high boost, E85 system, etc. - any of those will aid you...

I assume if you (hypothetically speaking) went RWD instead of AWD that 10s would much easier? Non drag radials as well

I am looking into some gear ratio stuff for our trans..I know with all my prior race vehicles ,it is important to get a nice close ratio for the gear recovery spread between shifts....Our 1st to 2nd is not ideal,,,
My new higher rev limit does make it easier to go higher in 1st so there is not that big pull down drop when you hit 2nd....

so the verdict is ??
Nobody ever recorded a 10.99 on 93 octane pump gas is what I have learned. That was the question right ?
Change the fuel and then it changes the answer, I believe. Or add meth.
I ran 11.03 @ 134.xx but was always on at least MS103.
