What the heck is this? **Gemballa wannabe content**
Just came upon this in my neighborhood: it looks like a 997 Gemballa avalanche….but closer upon closer inspection I am pretty sure it’s a 996, due t the rear bumper lines and the door handles.
However, look at front headlights…why would anybody go thru the hassle of modifying all of the front end to fit 997 like head light…..
Also I am not sure Gemballa made an avalanche kit for the 996 Turbo…. Looks to me like a replica kit….
What do you think?

Lol I'm sure someone thought it was a good idea at the time ...deff a 996 NB conversion, I wonder how the top goes down with that huge wing

thats exactly what i was about to say, last time i saw this car in oman was long time back, i use to see it twice to three times a week, no wonder its not around anymore, the car is based on a carrera with a twin turbo gemballa kit, by the way original color was black.

No offense to the owner... just having some fun. That hood is a little overcooked though. I've hated any Gemballa Avanlanche design every since that Vanilla Ice monstrosity.

Definitely disgusting.
There were even more things to notice.
The wheels were running 2 HR spacers…..so definitely no original Gemballa wheels.
The mesh in the front and rear bumper were horrible chicken wire crap.
So that is where that plate is…..
I have no clue how it got here….I live in Colombia, south America…..can’t imagine what shaky business was done to get the car form Oman to here….
Te question is….is it a real Gemballa or not? All tackiness and 997 conversion aside.
Is there even a 996 -> 997 conversion...wouldn’t you have to change pretty much every single panel?
