A Little Makeover Atlantis Blue 996TT
A Little Makeover Atlantis Blue 996TT
My Arctic Silver paintwork needed a little love. Called John over at Impressive Auto Center who has always been great with me when taking in my BMWs. I saw the paintwork he was producing out of there on multiple occasions.
I ended up handing over the keys for a little makeover instead.
Now before anyone freaks out... yes that is a BMW Individual paint color. After seeing IND and that beautiful M3 build I had to have Atlantis Blue. I started to pump fake because I knew the color was so bold but I went through with it hoping it came out as expected. BTW my E39 M5 is painted Carrara White

The photos I am sharing below really just do not capture the color properly. Atlantis Blue has so much more depth. Its really a blue but has some teal in it. The color really is incredible in different lighting. I only have a handful of photos that I was lucky to get from Impressive. I really should take more pictures but I'm driving the car more than admiring it.
Here is a list of the Mods:
- Atlantis Blue 399 Repaint including all black plastic skirts
- Misha GT2 Decklid
- Satin Black GT3 Wheels on Hankook Evo V12s with H&R Spacers
- 997 Turbo OEM Front Bumper (mated with 996 Turbo OEM Front Bumper)
- Custom Diffuser in Jet Black (cutout of OEM bumper)
- Shaved Rear Bumperettes
- 997 Sport Seats with Paint-Matched Rear Shells
- Paint-Matched Dash/Vent/Ignition/Speedo Trim
- Paint-Matched Center Console
- Carbon Fiber Door Panel Trim
- Illuminated Shifter
- Tequipment XBrace Roll Bar with Paint-Match
- Satin Black "Turbo" Badge
- Dallas Custom Steering Wheel 3-Tone (Alcantara/Perf Leather/Leather) with Orange Motorsport Ring, Silver Stitching, added thickness
- H&R Springs
- LWFW
- Aluminum Pedals
- Schnell Tips
- Pioneer Avic X930BT
- Modified OEM Exhaust
- Agency Power F-Hose with 710N Valves
- Agency Power Intake
- OEM Smoked Reflectors
- Carrera GT Fob
- Motor Blvd Aluminum Short Shifter
- LED 3rd Brake Light
- Smoked Rear Tails (Only Red area)
The car is still not finished. There are a few miscellaneous things that need to be done. For example, I am making some brake ducts for the foglight area. Car also needs to be reflashed. Had a problem with the immobilizer before paint and my ECU was flashed back to normal by accident. HFCs are being installed. Ordering a Camera Mount for the Rollbar. A few other little tweaks.
May not be a purist car but I am enjoying it

Everything is cool apart from the 997tt bumper. It is like trying hard to get at least something from the newer, more expensive model on an older and cheaper model. A 997tt wannabe.
But all the rest looks great, I love these wheels.

Thanks a lot guys for all the great comments since there is a lot of you on here who have some amazing cars as well. I can't tell you how happy I really am with the color. It went from just another normal 996TT to something special. I was starting to get a little bored with the car to be honest but this is completely invigorating.
I completely understand that some guys won't like the 997TT front. I will try to take some more pictures of the car so you guys can see what it looks like daily. Some shots from further away will probably help. In reality the bumper does not look forced but instead gives it a nice update. The 6TT front is just so stale to me and I didn't like the Techart front that I used to have because it was full fiberglass. The original bumper was cut down to the top quarter and the 7TT bumper was trimmed down to remove the top quarter. This ensured there was an OEM fit and I would retain all the 996 elements like the headlight trim and bumper corner lights. The two bumpers were then professionally welded and blended. The 997TT front LEDs were then modified with all white LEDs and work as driving lights when clicked over to the first switch position. In the future I'd like to create a 7.1GT3 front hybrid with the new LEDs made by ROTtec. To me this was a great alternative to update the car instead of doing a 997 front conversion.

i think the work looks impressive and the front flows so well. It's fusion auto = looking fantastic. BTW, can you PM how much painting a car like that cost. I might be interested in something similar. The work looks great.
