Pump Noise Behind Rear Seat

I have a noise that sounds like a small motor/pump running that comes from behind the rear seat area inside the car.
It happens when I shut the ignition off and hear a small motor start running for about 15 seconds. It happens sometimes with the engine running for about the same duration.

Any ideas?

TIA

You sure it's not your cooling fan in the engine deck lid? They turn on to continue cooling the engine sometimes after you turn it off or if it needs to while the engines running.
Sometimes the simplest things get missed.

It is not the cooling fan or from anything else in the engine compartment. I had my mechanic listen for it with the deck lid open with me in the car. He heard nothing, while I heard the noise came from behind the rear seat area.
A little baffled about this.

Weird, there isn't anything back there that should make a pump sound?
Unless its aftermarket, even then not sure.
I've pulled all the carpet out, all thats back there is located directly behind the rear seats you can pull the carpet back to see its backed in foam and easily removable and replaced. Nothing under the carpet under the flat deck section.
Hope you figure it out.

I will pull the carpet and foam in the back, and have one of my kids help me figure out where the noise is coming from.

Might be the secondary air pump. Just had mine worked on- has a high pitch wine at startup located in engine bay behind back passenger seat.

Will have my indy check this out. Thank you for the tip.

Another thing I discovered is that when I sit in the drivers seat with the ignition off, the noise starts and when get off the seat it stops, sit down again it starts again.
