Damn - this sucks!!

Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, will go down as the day when the racing died in Austin, Texas. The 2012 Formula One United States Grand Prix and the track that would host it, the Circuit of the Americas, were dealt a one-two punch that seems unsurvivable--though neither the race nor the track has formally been pronounced dead.

That is terrible and emberassing (considering the fact that India and Korea met their deadlines). I hope issues can be resolved. However, construction time tables are running...The track seemed destined to be one of the great ones.

Glad I did not get my hopes up too much. I wonder if there is a sufficiently well-heeled group in the US that could bring the $$$ to the table to keep this alive. Any time that Uncle Bernie is involved, keep one hand on your wallet.

wow, that really sucks. I read that is was slowly dying...but it's definitely sad to hear it's dead.

As the article points out...luckily the New Jersey race is still on track...

Darn, I was so looking forward to attend the F1 event in my backyard each year for the next 10 years.
