996tt 2004 wont start.... help... please??

I have a 2004 996tt that I last drove about 3-4 weeks ago.
Went to start it last night and it looked like the battery was run down
I charged it overnight with a car battery charger I have (I think 6amp/6v - slow charge) and this am it indicated that it was completely charged
I went to start - and just "click click click click" - nothing else
all the lights, radio, etc appear to be working fine.......

any thoughts?

-michael

6v - should be set on 12 volts. Might not have charged it enough. Be sure it is hooked up right as well - neg on neg and pos on pos, etc.

Did you change it to 12v? Clicking generally means the battery is low. Fuel should not affect the motor turning over, but will keep it from firing if no fuel!

Where abouts are you in Ohio?

How old is the battery? My stock battery in 2008 911 Turbo went dead in 3 years. I bought a better battery from Auto Zone for about half the dealership cost. More cranking amps and a 8 year warranty. They will test at your car for free and install for free too.

If the batt is bad(dead cell or cells) no amount of charging will cure it.Sounds like you might need a new one.A volt meter hooked to batt when cranking will give a good indication-below 12v = batt issue

Yes. Very easy . Avoid the dealership battery , not worth the extra expense
