Question for 996 Turbo owners: Any of you show 1.5bar oil pressure...

when the engine is warmed up and at idle? If so, did your low oil pressure indicator warning light come on? I am trying to troubleshoot an issue of mine and determine if the warning light should come on at 1.5 bar or if there is some faulty sensor. Thanks for the help guys!

No need to worry. This is most likely just a failed sensor/sender-unit. Have you gotten the indicator failure warning on your dash?

Yes, it would pop on and off and seems to trigger at 1.5 bar which is strange since I don't think that's really low pressure. It's never dipped below 1.5 bar when fully warmed up at idle. I think it's time to replace the sender unit. The question is now, while I am at it, should I replace the diverter valves so to get ready for an ECU tune...

Up to you on the diverter valves, I suppose it would provide better access to the sending unit from the drivers side of the engine. I followed the shop manual when I replaced the sending unit, removed Y pipe, and throttle body. It's in an odd location, and can be a bit difficult getting leverage on it, I think I used a crows foot on a small flex head ratchet.

Cleaned the TB while I had it out also ...

Good luck.
