Remove Bumper when changing Exhaust?

I'm changing my exhaust back to stock ... does the bumper need to come off for this?

The reason why I'm asking is that the tabs on the rear lights broke and have been "glued" in with what looks like melted fiberglass or something rather ...

Thanks y'all

you don't need to remove the bumper but if you can it will make it alot easier.

Stock exhaust?

The car I bought had a Fabspeed that I wanted to swap out for stock to get a quieter ride around town.

I removed the Fabspeed unit without removing the bumper. It was trivial.

However, when installing the stock one, I had a hard time getting the exhaust to clear the lower part of the bumper, while still getting the studs on the turbo lined up properly. So I did end up removing the bumper. That added maybe 30 minutes to the job, so not a biggie.

In the future, I will probably always remove the bumper. It's just so easy to do so.

To install the factory exhaust without removing the bumper get a friend to help you as its heavy, make sure the turbo heat shields are resting on the ends and your O2 sensors are in and in the correct order. Tilt the cats with heat shields up and place it in front but above the turbo bolts. Then tilt the end with the exhaust tips into the bumper cover. Now you will have space to move the exhaust deeper into the bumper cover letting you tilt the exhaust level. Then push the cats onto the turbo bolts. Also make sure your exhaust gaskets are between the turbos and the cats. They look like thin metal rings same size as the exhaust side of the turbo. They probably will be stuck to the turbo when you uninstall the aftermarket unit, just make sure that they are there.
Hope this helps
