Track day

Manny,

HOD has selected the “Race 13” configuration, to be run counter-clockwise, as the configuration of the day. Go to www.buttonwillowraceway.com and select track maps to see this layout.

Why RACE 13 vs RACE 1? Im curious as to why you want to cut out part of the track? Star Mazda allows cars to go faster through the ESSES, making it more fun -- i.e., if going counter clockwise, you can get through the esses before needing to brake for a turn, and if going clockwise it gives you more ramp up speed to go through the esses faster (more challenging and fun.) Beyond that, there's a bit more track to spread the cars out more evenly

Are you still open to possibly changing it to Race configuration #1 vs #15?

Just registered online. See you all in about 5 weeks!

By the way, any of you get out to Las Vegas on a regular basis? I'm there all the time. Would be fun to get a small group together one of these nights and rip it up.

Hi Manny, good feedback. We are speaking with HOD about changing the track to Race 1. I told them, you always listen to customers. Since we are the customers and grown adults here, I think we can handle the faster course.

;-)

DRFrom HOD: Need your feedback on dinner for Thursday night
I'd done some research on the dinner the night before - two real options...neither ideal but either could be fun. First - Harris Ranch
(www.harrisranch.com) is about 90 miles north of the track...they have three restaurants with several options - actually very nice as its just south of the feedlots (upwind), but the place is nice and has a motel - guys would have to hit it early but very doable....OR - south of the track is the Willow Ranch restaurant - homey place in with the truck stops - they will
cater lunch...good Mexican and BBQ kind of place...plenty of tacky motels at the stop just south of Lerdo Hwy which is the exit for the motel...

give us your thoughts guys,

thanks!

So far only 13 signed up? Man, what happened to the 42!
Our experience with Harris Ranch was expensive and not worth it in quality (just our experience..).

Track #1 is good news! Great job on that one....

Robert, unfortunately that's life. Some people just need reminders on a regular basis or they just wait till the last minute.

I had to deal with this with the last event and it still turned out AWESOME. So I am still confident that most people will sign up. I just hope more Porsche guys sign up quickly so we can Porsches can be the majority.

thanks everyone for signing up quickly!

If you guys want, I can get another Viper guy to sign up. He lives locally and knows where everythng is around there (food, bars, etc.) I know this is mostly Porsche guys, so let me know, and then I can ask.

By the way, my vote is not to drive 3 hours round trip from the track for dinner. Let's keep it local.

I agree...Bakersfield is less than 30 minutes from the track...plenty of nice places to eat there...and stay. I'll be signing up this week, looking forward to it.
