Obviously it was a lot quieter tho

how many miles are on the car? try draining the gearbox and check for metal shaving, a little pre maintenance with some re assurance. I toasted 3rd gear on the track, similar sounding.

35k miles ... I drive like I stole and do a few track days though

GB oil flushed last month and there was a few bad metal shavings. Not enough to look very bad but I guess I can't rule that out.

Did ur noise occur in all gears like mine even though only your 3 rd went ?

yes in all gears too, louder because all of third gear was crunched up banging around, I was lucky to have tech guy with flat bed close by. Yours could be a few pieces or few teeth? or something ready to let go. I heard 3rd gear failure is common? Better to be safe and have it checked out.

This is caused by the sprung hub clutch disc. When you went LWFW, your mechanic most likely put in a sprung hub vs. rigid hub disc (stock) to help dampen some of the idle noise you get with LWFW. The consequence is the little springs inside the hub vibrating back and forth under load at low rpms. It is normal but annoying. Don't lug your engine.

? I don't have a LWF, just to much hp & torque. My third gear was in bearing size pieces.

I have the same noise and can't figure out what is causing it. Must be my Lwfw.
