just finished gt2 master/slave install - Problem.

Finished install, bleed line with motive bleeder, all seemed to be going fine, pushed clutch for the 1st time, it snapped to the floor with zero resistance. I actually have to force the pedal back up.

Before I spend a ton of time troubleshooting, I figured I would check here.

Any ideas?

Did you bleed the clutch system and pump it a bunch? It takes alot of pumping. You can't just hook the bleeder up and pop the bleeder on the slave and be done. You will have to pump it a bunch even with the power bleeder attached. If you bleed the system enough, than I would check for a puddle of fluid under the car.

Agreed crack the bleeder on the slave and make sure there's no air in the system. Your almost there

If not bleeding the rod may have slipped off the fork.

Yup, mine did the same thing. More bleeding will fix it. And when you think you're done, bleed it some more.

It's a pita to bleed because the reservour is so small. So after 30 seconds of bleeding you have to close the bleed screw, unscrew the power bleeder, add more fluid, reattach of the power bleeder, pump the pressure back up and then get back under the car for another 30 seconds of bleeding. Fun stuff.

Same thing happened to me. We ended up bleeding for about 15 minutes before everything turned out OK. That was 8 months ago, and I've had no problems since.

A trick to bleed more efficiently is to stick your hand in through the inspection hole on the tranny and actually push the slave rod back into the slave, then open the bleed valve, close it again, and the release the rod. Keep doing it a handful times until you feel there's not "play" anymore in the slave rod (play = still air).

It's ten times faster and a lot less messy than bleeder, pedal, get under car again, push, air bubble somewhere refuses to get out etc etc.

All done. I am now a lover of the GT2 Master/Slave mod. It feels great!

Thanks for the help.
