Instrument surround question

How difficult is it to remove the plastic instrument surround, which surrounds the speedometer and other dials? How is it removed? I have a painted instrument surround coming from bumperplugs.com. Thanks!

I've done it and it's pretty simple. There are two or three screws that you have to remove, (one is behind the hazard surround) and the whole top section of the dash lifts out. It is then just a matter of unscrewing the old one and installing the new. I'll have to take a better look to give exact details of the job. The whole thing took me only about half an hour and I had never done it before. I likely could do it even faster now.

remove the hazard switch cover, behind this there will be a screw, the next is that small round cover on your left, remove this and there will also be a screw there, when you have removed both screws, wiggle the dash upwards and the whole unit should just come up, at the bottom of the unit should be some more screws, just remove the correct ones and your done. it would take about 1/2 to do the install or less.

You will have to disconnect all of the connectors for the dash cluster itself and for any switches. It's very easy.

Did you disconnect the battery? Is there a power failure/security code for the PCM/radio??
