how hard was it to remove the badge without damaging it? Then was it difficult to place it back without being crooked? I want to do mine in satin/flat/matte black ( not sure of the difference of each hhahah)
You can take the old off with fishing line or floss in a saw type action. Clean the area and you will see where the old one was... I also taped off a rectangle around the old one (a little bit of space away from it so I could clean without messing up the tape).
Then get one of these:

Paint it and re-install. Pretty easy job and easy to line up IMO. If you try to re-use the old one, you will have to get all the double sided tape off and put new on - FYI.

I don't like chrome either, in fact I don't want to advertise to the world I drive a Turbo. I like to think of my car as a 911 first and foremost. The turbo and widebody is just icing on the cake.

Realigning it was easy because the paint under the factory badge was perfect thus leaving an outline. I polished the area some but not so perfect that I took away my "guide."
