This is unacceptable. Someone with great writing skills should contact Jalopnik. Porsche should spend some of that ton of money they direct to marketing to marking a car with tho coolant issues. aka recall to fix the problem. Law suit waiting to happen in sue happy America.

Isn't it 6 straight and one curves, behind the alternator, that is not part of the kit. Total of 7....

Is anyone thinking class action lawsuit as this a known defect to PCNA that can result in serious injury or loss of life? I know we got some hungry attorneys on this board.

If you weld, you must pressure test before re-installing. We pressure tested first and caught a pin hole leak. Re-welded, tested, passed test and installed...

It would be shame to discover a leak after putting everything back together!

Anyone have a rationale as to why/how this failure would lead to injury/death at highway speeds? That's what NHTSA will use... Plus pcna is feeding them stats to help obscure the issue.

The key is to argue it is a risk for getting groceries...

Risk on the track is not going to influence regulators, IMO

Coolant spills onto the rear tires and a incredibly fast pace possible causing loss of traction which could lead to accident or death.

When they go, they dump big! ask the Ariel Atom that was behind me that ended up in the dirt, but like I said the first one went a couple of weeks ago was under normal driving in town, if I would have been on a bending onramp who ever was behind would defiantly crash. I think coolant is about as slick as it gets.

how did you test, did you buy hoses that were the size of each hose and plugged them? It must be a lot of work to pressure test those?

Just so everyone knows, the OVR chapter is quite picky....I had instructed with BMW CCA for 6+ years and asked them to consider me to instruct with them and I was told I had to be a student for several weekend before I was considered. I guess not totally unreasonable but again quite picky....

Who is doing your repair, someone in SLC?

I think when the weather warms up a bit I might try to drill, tap and pin mine while in the car.

Yes, Race Co. out at Miller they do all my work on the Porsche and race prep on everything else that I drive or race out there. Cole is a Porsche tech from Strong Porsche and really good at set up as well. He is a great driver himself and races out there so he really gets it. I don't think you can get to the coolant manifold without dropping the motor.

If I have to pull the motor, I don't think I'd pull it just to do that. My car has less than 20k miles and I don't plan to track it. I'll wait and If I need a clutch, change turbos, exhaust and do a bunch of mods, I'll drop it then and do the GT2/3 clutch slave conversion at the same time.

Mine does have high miles, I bet you will not have a problem for along time, with your milage i would wait till your doing something else for sure
