Looking for Tech Help
I just picked my 996TT up from the body shop today and was looking toward to the 200 mile long home. I filled up with gas, had some dinner and started the trek. A few miles later I tromped down on the throttle only to hear a large " whoosh ", followed by a quick jerk. Almost immediately the PSM and ABS lights came on as did the Engine light a few minutes later.
I can hear the whoosh of air on the right side of the car, when the turbos are boosting. The car is obviously running like it is in limp mode as well
The body shop had the bumpers off and I am curious if this is related, as these thing generally are.

Sounds like most likely a boost hose popped off. You can check the two up top and the two on the bottom. Most likely one of the hoses from the y pipe to the intercoolers popped off and you can pull on them to check. If you are lucky you can pop it back into place but something may also have cracked or broken.
Good luck,
Sam

I did check the hoses on top ( the y-pipe and everything that is visible) as well as looking underneath and I didn't see anything off or broken looking. I don't know where else to look or if I have to pull the bumper.

Not to sound like too much of a stooge but where is the F hose ?
(I did think that some Effin' hose popped off)
(I did think that some Effin' hose popped off)

Its located on the left side of engine bay above the Y pipe (Gray hose center of pic here).

Thanks for all of your help. As I had suspected, the body shop had not secured one of the intercooler lines so it blew off. They are fixing now.
Thanks banana for giving us the conclusion to your problem. Don't 'cha just hate when someone posts all their problems, but never tell you what the solution was?
I do hate that!! You find some archived query that exactly matches your current problem but there is no conclusion......
