Trying to Decide whether to change the Clutch Slave Cylinder
but i only know how mine have worked ( or not
), ymmv. just one of the obvious peculiarities of the beloved 996t. if it starts leaking, you know what to do.

The Consensus seems to say Accumulator, that is a relief to hear. Car is all jacked up ready to go. Weather has been dreary so I have been procrastinating a little.
I know it is in the garage, but I feel better if it is sunny, it is Florida after all. I did get a motive bleeder so I most likely will bleed too.
I do have another question, I could not get Pentosin 11s so I got 2 Liters of Pentosin 202. I think they are compatible, will do a little more googling I guess.

202 replace the 11. no problem...Just in case the bladder is not completely depleted. Depress the clutch 25 times before removal, better safe than sorry...
Pentosin: http://www.lufteknic.com/Merchant2/m..._Code=PS_Fluid

lost count but my left calf seems larger.Just need to get my fat !@## under the car and do it. It is overcast again today....

I have Monday off, so maybe then. As you can see I do not use the car much, it could stay on ramps for another 2-4 weeks and I would not really notice. I did change the oil though on Thursday though. Mobil 1 5w 50, no idea why I did it. I change every year regardless. The oil and filter that came out seemed as clean as the new. I also replaced the washers on the drains (Turbos too). I bought 3 sets from Pelican Parts and have one set left.
Does the oil ever get dirty on these cars, perhaps if you do more than 600 miles a year?
I will report on the Accumulator change when I get around to it. Please continue your stories I like reading them.
My car is on my web page at "impconcepts d0t C0m" Right Column Porsche, you can check my other mods and DIY installs there, at least the ones I have documented. I think I am just getting tired of tuning and fixing cars. No other mods to do on it now. It is fast enough for me.
Thanks again for all the input and telling me what I want to hear (Accumulator Yayyyyyy!) keep the stories coming.

OK Did it, replaced the accumulator. Took a grand total to about 1.5 hours, some of that was my mulling.
Did get a little Pentosin bleed off at the neck of the accumulator but the plastic bag took care of it. One interesting thing, I bled the clutch but I do not think it needed it. No bubbles just pure green stuff nevertheless all done.
The hardest part was making and bending the 27mm wrench into place. A 27mm Dogleg would have been better IMHO. There is not a lot of room to tighten it back up. I use a piece of wooden dowel and tapped with with a mallet until it was tight by my calculations anyway.
AND the best part.... The clutch is better than it has ever been. PurrrFeeccct!. I would even call it a "Ladies" clutch it is so smooth and light.
Probably was bad 3 years ago when I got the car.
Soooo the manual is full of it. All their tests indicated the slave. Probably inserted for the dealers sake to make some extra cash, typical.

GT2 Conversion Question
I'm considering the GT2 conversion, but I would like to know what the pressure increase feels like. My specific question is: With a bad accumulator/not running/ the clutch is not being power assisted....correct? Then does that mean with a GT2 conversion, running or not, the feel would be about the same?

all that said, i personally haven't done it, but have been in cars that have had the mod. feels like a normal clutch. while ours in stock configuration, often does not!
