$5 Red Tint Tail Light DIY

Got a roll of red tint for $5 off ebay.

Trying to make the tail lights look more updated
Yes, I'd rather have LED tail lights though

Took me a whole 15mins to get the job done!

I am sure somebody has done it before, but would like to share with you guys and see what you think? (Beside I need a wash really bad?)

I smoked my red section from the outside, then covered the whole thing with a few coats of clear.

Its just a carbon fiber gt2 add on wing. It was a board sponsor who was making them a year or two ago.

I tinted mine on the outside, just stick it on and cut it following the edge of the inside trim, lol

I have a few small cracked on the upper parts of my light, and this "mod" kinda hide it (a bit). So that is the main reason I want to tinted the outer trim.

I did the same. I bought car model tail light spray from the local hobby store, sprayed the upper half, and clearcoated the whole light. Had the same little cracks as you!

I'll be honest, that looks WAY better than I imagined it would when I clicked on this thread. Very nice work, and a terrific DIY!

I didn't use spray paint on mine. I use a thick layer of red tint film instead.

It sort of hide it, but will still be noticeable when up close.
