Thinking of selling soon, any suggestions on where?

I am considering selling my car soon and I am wondering if there are other outlets to sell that may be easier besides the typical forums postings? I am not interested in putting the car on websites only to be lowballed and let it sit there for months and months waiting for the right price. I understand that pricing it within market makes a huge impact, but there are always bottom feeders around looking to grab a deal if they can. Would anyone recommend a consigner? I have never used one nor really know how they work besides they do the sale more or less for you for a fee. It sounds like it might be the way I would want to go as I don't really have the time to show the car to multiple people unless I am pretty certain they are willing to purchase the car. Any suggestion besides auttrader, 6speed, teamspeed, etc... that you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hate to break it to you but car values suck and you'll get low balled everywhere.

Yep... Check ebay and other places and you'll see 996TTs in the $30s...It's an ugly market...

Mileage changes things a bit too. I looked and looked before I bought mine, I can rattle prices off the top of my head. Sometimes what people think is a low ball is actually reality. Not saying this is the case with you by any means. Forums are a tough place to sell cars, you almost need to sell through a retailer if you want to get any decent money for it.

I think the biggest thing about selling a car you've had for a while is , " are you mentally prepared to sell it?" I see a lot of people put up cars for sale with redicolous price amounts because they are still attached and not really sure about selling. Do your research, be ready for low ballers, people who say they can find the same car cheaper and etc. It's just part of life
Good luck

I have a better ideal. Avoid all the low ball offers and tire kickers. KEEP IT.

Sold both of my cars by printing a neat vinyl sticker on my quarter window saying FOR SALE and my phone #... keep it clean, drive it, go to some meets / shows, you'll get a call and you dont have to "show" the car bc if they got your # they are interested and have seen it.

Prepare for it:.
1/ Get all the paperwork together.
2/ pick up any and all invoices / bills / repair and maintenance records you have and file in nicely.
3/ If you have mods, write down who did it , when , how long ago .. you are getting the drill.. right?
4/ Pull a car fax and read the thing and make sure you agree / understand all the entries.
5/ get the beast to an indie and have it checked over and repair anything that should be working and make sure you have the records.
6/ consider doing a PPI and have the paperwork ready when negotiating
7/ have good tires all around.
8/ a nice, thorough clean and buff / waxing jobs is in order.
9/ park the beast in a nice visible spot with a for sale sign on it
10/ if you advertise, hire a cute awesome looking girl in appropriate clothing and post the darn thing . It works :-)
11/ ask a realistic price
12/ do not be desperate.
13/ do not over-sell ie when the pundit is ready to buy STOP selling!!.
Good luck!!
