Folks with Kenwood DNX double din units - questions

Are you happy with your units? Any issues? I know the 2012 models are faster, how can one tell the 2012 models from older models. I want to install one of these on my 2001 turbo.

Thanks in advance.

Mo.

I have an older Kenwood model installed in my 2001 TT and can say that I have been very happy with it. The fit is perfect.

I have a couple year old DNX-8120 that I used to have in my Audi. It was nice, has Navi, Bluetooth, CD, iPod...all that good stuff. It was a nice all in one unit.

I still have it actually, I'll sell it for dirt cheap if you're interested.

Looks like this:

Hi - agree on the 2012 kenwoods..they are gonna be nice.

I have my car in the shop getting one installed, a dnx6990hd, right now. Actually was supposed to pick the car up but the detail shop is picking it up and putting a clear bra while I'm using a loaner. Hopefully I'll finally see it installed in a day or two...anyway...hope this link will help.

I have the 6960. No real issues. Once in a very rare while, i have to restart the unit because it takes too long to read my ipod. Nice system and with an Porsche wallpaper and porsche opening screen, it looks OEM. The 2012s should be even better.

My car has the Kenwood DNX 5180 with back up camera, I love it. I'm not sure what year it came out, maybe '10 but my stereo sounds great. The touch screen works well, navigation is easy to use and it has the I-pod connection in the center console. I put a DVD in it just for the heck of it to see the video quality. Again, it's awesome, the thing does so much it will probably be the end of summer before I can figure it out.

You bet. I am biting nails off here coz it's the kenwood, a RV cam, 9500ci, + Fabspeed maxflo combo. Dropped car off a week ago and was gonna pick it up tonight an sample the goods but timing, i live an hour+ from shop, and another appointment made it better for detail shop to grab it but can't complain they are all great shops and a free loaner to boot. The detail guys get to hear my radio and exhaust before I do, lol! I'll def. post after my baby and I are reunited.. Good luck! I think we can't go wrong with these kenwoods, honestly. Cheers all, -Chris

I have a dnx9140 in mine. I love the unit. The Nav is awesome. The only thing I would do different is step up to the 9960 or 80 (older models-not sure of the 2012 designations) They have a few more bells and whistles. More eq bands and a better user interface. A key difference for me is voice dial command. The 9140 doesn't have it. The only time I regret the 9140 is when I ride in a buddy's car with the 9960. Can't go wrong with Kenwoods.
