Anyone that is willing to give you a tune to try without paying for it upfront is confident it will meet standards.. I know I am...
I haven't used Markski yet, the key word being yet. Called him with some questions about a few cars I was looking at in Jan and he took a lot of time to talk through all the noob questions. He then he took the time to meet with me and discuss options before I even owned a 996. Got the car a few weeks ago and I look forward to Markski working on it this summer. There are times when you know you meet someone with a passion for what they do and Markski is the real deal IMHO.

I was happy to have paid the $ to get the right tune on the car. If someone is offering you a try-it-before you buy it Tune, I wouldn't hesitate. You'll understand what we're all talking about here once you do it.

I had a flash on my k16's with a big name tuner and was very happy with it. As I planned to go with a turbo upgrade and decided to go with the 18g setup my first tuner didn't do flashes for the 18g's. That being said I did a lot of research and decided to go with Tony at EPL. I was just getting the parts together for install and Tony offered me a k16 flash first to see how I liked his tuning compared to my original flash and offered to give me 100% of the cost of the k16 flash towards the 18g flash if I did it by the end of the year that was around 5 months away. That being said comparing the k16 flashes Tonys flash was much better on power, drivability, smoother, and the car felt better in all aspects. Tony and his crew at EPL have great customer service and he's very reasonably priced IMO. He's also the closest tuner to me too which was an important deciding factor for me as I plan to have it custom tuned on the dyno someday. It was a tough decision for me to go with EPL or Protomotive for the 18g's but it came down to price and being closer to me. I'm sure any tuner you go with you'll be very happy with but make sure you know what your modding plans in the future will be and see if the tuner can/will support your future mods. My 2 cents is Tony or Todd you can't go wrong with either. Hope this gives you some insight. I'm not promoting EPL I'm just telling you my great experience with them and his great tunes on stock and larger modified turbos.

You may a get cheaper k16 flash but later pay the diff for a 18g tune... in the end you come out the same. What if later you decide to do do a 3076r tune... do yo keep paying? With us no... This comes down to marketing the product so be hesitant looking at price alone... for example, do you get support? What if your car is running like cr@p, does the tuner look at the logs, maybe codes, and help troubleshoot the situation. Does he( shop) have a qualified person on phone to even explain to you the symptoms and solutions to the issue at hand? There are many ways that the extra few hundred dollars that you save upfront by getting a cheaper tune can end up being a more expensive choice... I get calls from members to look at logs because their tuner isn't answering emails or calls all the time... ( not pointing fingers at one) nor saying that cheaper tunes are worse...

Actually Tony has looked at all my logs I've sent him and adjusted flashes to where the car ran better at no charge and he also explained what to look for # wise when I asked for my own knowledge and understanding of where these cars run optimally. I put my kit together myself it's not anyone's "packaged" 650 or 700 kits it's all bits and pieces I've found on my own. 8 out of 10 times I spoke to Tony himself and the other times I spoke to Rich at EPL who either talked to him and answered my question right away or got back to me within 24 hours with my answer. Tony has always answered my emails in a timely manner too. Their customer service has been the best I've received in this P car industry. I'm probably that guy when they see me calling on the caller id probably rolling their eyes saying oh boy it's Ron calling again but have always been there to answer my questions/calls. I know the starter of this thread didn't want to hear this but yes my tuner rocks and is the best in my opinion! Again I would not hesitate to recommend them 100%. Marek I would not hesitate to recommend you too as you have spent time with me on the phone in the past on deciding factors of turbos to go with and other recommendations to do on my car your vast knowledge and honesty is bar none in this industry. Listen if I lived in the Midwest or closer to Arkansas I probably would have gone with Todd and or you but I live 5 hrs from EPL and I like being able to talk to the tuner directly. I know he probably won't be as available now that spring is just about here and the season starts for a lot of Pcar owners but they haven't let me down yet. Again these are just my opinions I'm not trying to start a whole my tuner is better than yours. I'm just extremely pleased with mine. All the best fellas.

Im not referring to Tony in particular, just a general comment about this tuning business and how some include and others excluded certain services and products which are not evident always at first sight... thus price differences...

No problem it's just that you quoted my post and the only two tuners I mentioned was Tony and Todd so I was just mentioning even though EPL cost was lower you still get great service and upgraded flashes through them. Your right other tuners may not do this but you didn't clarify that in your original reply. Again I'm not trying to promote just trying to give an honest education to others from my experiences.
