Appraisal: '02 X50
For comparison here's a locally advertised '01 $75K miles for <$31K.
Seems like a great buy. The problem is these cars look pretty scary when actually seeing them in the flesh. Very few Turbos around here, and the very nice ones priced low seem to sell within the first few hours of being advertised. I've seen a few in the low $30s and would have a hard time paying mid $20s. They remind me of a dirty, smelly old car where nothing is actually nice and everything has issues. Not what I'm interested. I'd much rather ante up another $15K-$25K and get a low miler that's like new. The driving experience and ownership is so much better, not to mention the value when it's time to sell.

People are surprised at the delta between "like-new" low milers, vs. tired, worn high-milers, but it's significant for a reason.
If its any help...
As a reference, I am selling my 2-owner, seal gray 2002 x50 with similar modifications with 56k on the clock for $47,500. It has the sunroof delete option as well as full leather and sport seats.

Agreed. I always look at it in terms of miles to years of ownership. When I bought my car two years ago, I paid $54K for it - 03 with 20,000 miles. It looked and felt new. While some people back then were saying I paid way too much, the other examples that were in the 40's looked beat and had double the miles. So after two years I now have 35,000 miles. I still have less miles than the other cars I looked at 2 years ago and I got over 2 years of driving the car daily for the max $10K price difference. Seems worth it to me, especially considering the condition of those other cars.
35 to 36 i would say. our cars are going to take another hit in value with the 991's out and the 997's about to take a precipitous drop. my feeling is i would offer him 35 or walk --- i would tell him that the spoiler at the dealership will cost you 1k to fix and with the cluch having 35k miles on it ... who knows maybe another 5k miles it'll start to slip
