What about the electronics for seat movement - are the connectors for the electronics the same?

The connectors for the 996TT seats are not compatible with the connectors for the 997 seats, but all you have to do is replace the connectors with ones that work together. The 997 seats have a side airbag that does not come on the 996 seats, so you either do without that airbag, or you have to custom wire it, although I don't know if that is possible.

The 997 GT3 seats have a power recliner seat back, but the forward/backward sliding mechanism is not powered.

I've got manual sliders with electronic tilt. The connector was switched and done in 5 minutes. These are sport seats that normally come with the gray finish covers, I had them painted ala 996SS when the car was painted. Impressive did a great job on them.

Ebrake needs a new leather covering and the car is filthy.

997 GT3 Power seats in a 996 Turbo

I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure if restarting this thread is the correct way to go but its worth a shot. I have a '03 996 Turbo and I would like to upgrade the seats to 997 GT3 Seats. Does anyone know if the power seats will work in a 996? I have seen threads about people installing the 997 seats that have only the power reclining feature but the seats I am thinking of installing are full power. Any info on the subject would be much appreciated. Here a few pics of the seats I'm thinking of installing.

Thanks.

That looks perfect with the matching deviated stitch to pull it all together.

Reviving an old thread here, but I am considering installing a set of 997/987 seats in a 996 Turbo and just wanted to clarify a few things with anyone who has done this before moving forward.

Mounting: From all that I have read, mounting is a non-issue as the 996/997 rails are the same to allow the seats to drop right in.

Seat belt(s): As I understand it, all that needs to be done here is to re-connect the seat belt wiring connector to the original wiring harness now that the 996 seat plug has been removed. I assume the 996 seat belt itself will attach to the 997 seat?

Power recline: This is the area that I am a little foggy on. I assume one would simply jumper the wires from the 996 wiring harness to the appropriate fore and aft wires of the 997 seat?

Any help or additional info would be appreciated.

Hi I was wondering if you could help me. I am new on the site and I have a 996 tt 2004. I found a set of seats from a 997 that I would like to install in my car. Is it just a matter of bolting them in and connecting the wiring harness or more complicated? I think the 997 seats are out of a regular carrera. Thank you
