New Guy Needs Help!!
New Guy Needs Help!!
Howzit!! It looks like I'll be placing an order this week for an 04 996 TT. My problem is ... no coupes. It looks like the coupe allocation is all dried up and they are only selling cabriolets.
This car will be sent to EVOMS for the stage V

I think the coupe is a better platform for the power but if I can't get a coupe ... are there any potential pitfalls with the new 996 TT Cabriolet??
BTW .... used is not an option.

"BTW .... used is not an option." While used may not be an option, have you tried to source a new coupe in dealer inventory? Or do you specifically want to spec the vehicle yourself? Why is used not option, even under 500 miles? You might have a decdent chance of finding what you are looking for. I think the coupe vs. cab is completley up to you. I personally do not like cabs at all. JMHo. Good luck in what ever you decide.
I would rather spec it out myself. Colors/options etc. The timing is better in the spring for me anyway and an order submitted now should get me a car when I am ready. I guess if push came to shove I would go with lightly used.
I agree with the cab comment. It has not "grown on me" yet. It may though. Thanks!!

depends what the purpose of the stage v is. if you are actually planning on using all of the available power then there is no way i would get the cab. if it is just to have a cool cruiser that you know would be very capable but have no real intention of pushing then a cab may be an option. obvious if performance is really a concern the coupe is the right choice.
You said that you want a new car, so you can still get an '03 car that was never sold, there are a bunch around, just start calling local (and non local) dealers. My local dealer has a '03 X50 silver that you might be able to get 12k off sticker (at Pepe porsche). Also, just call around to se if anyone has any '04 coupes, with over 200 dealers nation wide, im sure one of them has a '04 TT. About allocation, all '04 coupes are accounted for, there will only be 184 brought to the US.

Oh dear, No-Mercy is at it again!! You think this car will be able to take on your Z07? I concur with the others that you may want to check dealers for '03s sitting in their showrooms as you may just get lucky and find one to your spec.
u can customize the car aftermarket...
just get all the factory parts you wanted... and tell porsche to install it for you...
and besides, ordering factory parts yourself can save u a lot of money... eg. full carbon kit will cost you more than 10,000, where if you were to order the complete set from carnewal, it'll save u a lot of $$

Thanks for the responses. I am just starting to get into this so I still need to do some thinking. Keep the ideas flowing. It will be helpful. Thanks!!
TCM The Z07 is a real nasty ride. The thing just barks and goes like hell. I am sure the Porsche I end up with will be a real monster as well.
