How many G's??
Hey, KPV!!!
TTC....
Sorry, but I was looking through you're photo gallery and saw some signs that said..."please becareful, don't wash..." Do you really put those on your car when going in for dealer service??? I've always wanted to put some sign like that...when the dealer preped my new 745, it looked like they washed it will a steel wool brush or something

mehrabani1: The human body can handle at most 9 sustained g's and then we go splat internally. Negative g's in car terminology (not flying) are deceleration or longitudonal.
KPV is correct, the car is traction limited and the limit is roughly the same in all directions, so, an ideal 0.9g car in lateral acceleration can only get 0.9 in braking or accel. While I would like to believe it, without track tires, it is really unlikely that even a stage 4 can get over 1 g. Often the units are not well calibrated.
Almost all cars are acceleration limited (even F1) so the g-g plot looks like a heart rather than a true "friction circle".

Vehicross
KPV: Fun car. Quite a bit of power & torque.
High School students here in the Northwest do not look cool unless they have an SUV with a snowboard rack and fogs lights in the school parking lot.
Now outfitted with the same pushbar and round fog lights as yours. Where'd you get the bra???

I got the bra directly from Isuzu. I believe it is a Colgan bra made for Isuzu. Actually though, I have a spare with a small tear in the very bottom of the lower piece. The push bar hides the tear. There is a hood piece and a lower piece. Let me know if you are interested in buying it.
Signs
Yes. They are printed on photo paper and then laminated (& kept with the spare tire when the car is not at the dealer). The DNWs are 8X10 and go in the front & back windows. The other one is 4x6 and is stuck to the interior AC vents with double-sided tape.
Although the service manager knows not to wash my cars, the transient employee who moves, stages and washes customers' cars may not remember or consider it trivial and wash it anyway. Everyone seems to respect this and always treats my cars with the highest regard.
(20 years ago in Boston I got my midnight blue 911SC "brillo-d" at the dealer. When I asked why they washed it, they said "we thought you were kidding when you asked us not to." Now I don't risk it..... it's very clear to everyone what my intentions are.)

Here's a quote out of Christophorus...
"When a Porsche brakes sharply, it attains decceleration values that clearly exceed those of its competitors - and even surpass the theoretical maximum, which is defined as 1.0 g , assuming adherent static friction on a road with good traction. But modern tires cancel out this rule. Contact that is partially positive-engaged due to the tire dovetailing with the road surface permits decceleration values beyond 1.0 g."
Automobile Magazine tested the Turbo (a Tip) and recorded a peak braking value of 1.10 g...

I've "sustained" over 9 g's many times, and never went splat...
Dock:
You are right, sorry for being a little quick and sloppy. People typically begin to loose peripheral vision at 3-5 g's, gray out higher, until black out between 7-10 g's maybe slightly more for certain people.
Some tests have had humans experience 28 g's for very short periods, but not all people can handle this (Lady Di).

Stock 03 996tt X50
I have the G-tech Pro Competition. After proper calibration the unit offers useful and accurate data.
The displayed stock 03 996tt X50 data was from a very good launch of 5000ish rpm with little chirps of rubber through 1st gear. The was no notable bog at start. The car was tested after cruising without boost on the freeway for several minutes so intake temps were nice and cool. The test area elevation is 1250ft and air temperature at the time was in the mid 60Fs. There's probably a bit of room for improvement, but not much.
This is the Gs graph
This is the Speed graph
Other graphs not shown for the G-tech Pro Competition would be HP and TQ vs. RPM, HP vs. time, RPMs, Distance, and Breaking.
