clean/replace your MAF first. That solves about 50% of rough idle/PSM fault issues.

Thanks. I tried cleaning, didn't help much. Replaced the sensor and still the same problem.

+1. abs/psm cels and a rough idle, i would check your MAF... first. also, cleaning them is a stopgap measure, sometimes it helps, sometimes not.. if you really want to eliminate the maf as the source of the problem, you'll need to start again with a new one.

Hey Guys, finally got my Durametrics kit. I got the following:

4420 Rate-of-turn sensor
5525 Incorrect data transfer with DME master control unit

Any ideas? Easy fix or have to bring to a shop? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I had some very strange alignment issues and PSM kicking in without warning. An instance in a moderate tight 40 MPH turn, where the rear tires slid, the PSM braked and upset the handling.

All this is when I fit new Sumi ll rear tires with my used Michelin PS2 fronts. I was in alignment and PSM hell for about 6 weeks/350 miles over the winter. The car seemed obsessed. I then fit new Sumi ll fronts wher the rotations per mile were that same as the rear. My car has never felt better. All the weird things instantly went away, the car now feels better than it ever did with the PS2s. I can corner aggressively, the tires feel really grippy, all the alignment issues like hunting and oversteer are gone.

This confirmred two things, one that circumferential size matching front to rear is important to make PSM work as designed and secondly to keep the caster angle and weight distribution correct. A very small F to R tire diameter differential will cause all sorts of handling woes I found out.

I did the exact same thing, this explains my past issue as well. I then switched to matching MPSCups and it worked perfectly- now on matching Hankook V12s and still works flawlessly. It must have been the mismatch between Sumi back and PS2 front.

I'm having the exact issue right now. Going into turns the car feels like the brakes pulse and the car downshifts, unsettling the car. I also get the traction control light blinking.

I have mismatched tires, front to back, as well. V12 on the rear on older Michilins on the front. Could that be the problem? I was thinking it was going to be much worse then that! Fingers are crossed!

changing tires even to oem spec'd tires, let alone differing ( incompatible ) sizes will/can cause the abs/psm cels in our cars. it's just part of the joy. *usually* the ecu will adjust to the *new* tires ( provided they're within oem spec ) and the cels will stop.

happened to me many times.
