I'm assuming you have a 2001 without the MOST System. If so, how does it sound without swapping speakers and amps?

Btw - re: the lack of a volume ****, there's another model lower in the lineup that has a **** (albeit a slightly smaller screen).
Yes.

Sounds great. Better than OEM radio. With the EQ you have endless possibilities. You can also tweak subwoofer frequency.

Stock settings (out-of-box) is a bit brighter sounding than the OEM Becker. Didn’t like that. So, 3 minutes later with a bit of EQ-ing sounds much better than Becker.

I am also a sound engineer and pro musician, so take my word for it - it's brilliant.

Awesome, great to hear. I've taken apart my batwing and stereo console area a cpl times to run wire for my muffler bypass switch. If I'm comfortable doing that should I have a problem with the Avic install?

anything I should look out for?

I'm pretty excited as I never listen to the oem stereo partly b/c its so terrible and partly cuz Id rather hear my engine , but I'm excited that the improvement is as I thought it would be. I really dont want the extra co9mplexity and cost of amps/speakers for the few times I'll listen to the stereo anyhow.

btw - do you have any suggestions for

a) recording vocals in a home studio

b) getting the vocal track to sit well within a the entire track?

thx!

Allow plenty of time - take it easy - don't rush. Install manual comes with it. Pretty straight forward.

A). Lots of rugs and curtains - make sure you record as dry as possible. Use good condenser mic. Use compressor.

B). This is impossible to answer without hearing the mix. But good use of stereo separation. Make sure frequencies don't overlap. Don't over do guitars, distortion and such unless your vocal is high. Nice plate reverb on vocals.

I think this is now off topic and everyone will go HUH?

My DAW setup is based on a mac pro with logic pro 9 + waves platinum bundle. I dont have a hardware compressor - can I get away with AU plugins?

ill make a curtain box to hang from the ceilings. Do you rec compressing the pre signal live? or compressing the signal in the mix with a sidechain fr the kick/or low bass lead?

Thanks so much for your advice, do you mind if I send you something to listen to for some criticism?

ps are you familiar with the waves audio L3-16 multimaximizer?

(yeah orficially OT now)

I was told LED sensor needs to be positioned top of front dash (windshield corner) in order to work for daylight and night time automatic mode switching.

Electrician showed me car with it fitted and I nearly died! Looked horrible and I knew immediately I won’t put it there.

After extensive research and testing I can confirm (LED must be looking straight at the sky) is BS!

So I fitted my LED sensor to the place I think even Porsche would be proud.

I also wrapped plastic trim pieces in carbon for extra touch.

So here it is where he wanted to put it:

This is where I did it:

And other side to match:

Working 100%. Dimms at dusk.
