Why should I have to get a re-tune? My car was tuned by EPL on a dyno and ran great. This makes nonsense to me. Tweak, your exhaust must be more free flowing than mine. I don't know what a PBK 'type' exhaust is, but I can't see pushing 1.3 thru mine without excessive heat build up.

Yea, that is odd. Mine is a modified stock exhaust. It was done by Boost Logic and was told it was very similar to PBK in design.

Boca, my thoughts are that Switzer should at the minimum take back their product and determine what is wrong.

If it can be remedied, then I would certainly consider paying for the fix, which should be less than having to purchase a new exhaust.

I was thinking of getting this exhaust, but will now consider others as I hate it when there are issues and a manufacturer won't work with you....

Too many manufacturers that will.

Sorry....

FBK, my advice at this point is to check around and see who else is happy with their exhaust and the manufacturer.

Boca, I tried and Neil just gave me excuses, he did not have any interest in working with me to correct the PROBLEM with his PRODUCT. That shows his interest lies in selling product, customer service, at least in my case, meant nothing to him.

Neil, I would like to set the facts straight. I have never trashed you or your company, only stated my experience. Please read post #4.

Our last correspondence was my email to you asking if you would look at my muffler, shipped at my expense, to try and determine the issue. YOU never responded to that email.

Your last contact with me was to dismiss my situation with what I consider to be an excuse, that I purchased your product second hand. There are plenty of sponsors on this forum that guarantee there product no matter who or where they were obtained. So your reply was of no help to my situation.

By your own text above, you acknowledge that there is a problem with some of your exhausts, but still I can't get my issue resolved. I never asked for you to replace my muffler, in fact I would be more than happy to send it to you, pay to have it re-packed, repaired or whatever needs to be done to fix it.

It appears that this is not a priority for you, but its still something I have to deal with. It certainly should not have taken 2 postings on this forum to get your attention.

jgood, it appears that Neil is willing to take a look at your second hand exhaust.

You are more than welcome to send us the exhaust for inspection in the mean time as I would love to get you back on the road and making power like before, but hopefully without drone.
I believe this was one of your major complaints in your original post:

My issue is that I cannot get Switzer to even look at this muffler as Neil claims any number of tunes/set-ups can 'burn out' the packing in the muffler.
I hope a reasonable compromise can be made if the two of you can see command ground here?

As a follow up, I heard from Neil today and will send him my muffler to check out. Hope to get some answers and hopefully have it repaired.

I am happy that Neil and I are going to try and figure out what is wrong. As I told him, I am a big fan of Switzer products and look forward to having him do my next car.

Gentleman this thread is going well, very well…and the way we want all 6sp threads to go concerning a disagreement with member and sponsor, out in the open NO name calling….working like adults to understand and resolve a difference.

In the past it has been done behind the curtain through PM’s often using the flaming email system, the bad side of that….. We at 6sp members/vendors never get the real issues resolved by peer pressure….nor understand if the part was really bad not installed properly or just a knockoff. We do not find out who are the GREAT Vendors that really bust their butts to make things correct, we never find out the members that will take the time to sequentially tell their story through truth and work towards resolution.

The Hatfields and McCoys …What we often see... a very upset member and a vendor that demands a thread be closed and moved away…..of course taking the truth right to mod delete…..not anymore we (including IB) will leave the threads open we will maintain civility .......we will hope that everyone comes to a resolve …..Biggest of all it will be in open forum..... the best for both sides of any disagreement....and if anyone starts throwing grenades of shooting small lethal weapons then they can be banned for a period of cooling off (sponsors also)....remember this is about resolve in open forum.

We will not allow flaming… name calling… or bringing in other friends…you know get someone to join and say how great you or the products is….

Do not hesitate to do the right thing and make things good. THESE are the members and Vendors that will shine and this makes me believe the ones that don’t will be seen through a different light.

The real item that needs addressing is second hand products are just that buyer beware!! How can a manufacturer be liable when you bought a used item? If you want the ability to have a product replace you need to buy it new. Just how I feel nothing against the OP.
