Glad to hear it came out fairly easily. The amount of force needed to undo the plug is easily explained by amy number of reasons; even though it is not ideal it is not uncommon, especially when dealing with alloys.

I think the main reason I have encountered stripped bolts was due to the previous tech over tightening. Who did your last service?

But in the case of stuck bolts/nuts, an impact wrench is your best friend. I have both an cordless electric DeWalt (takes off lug nuts and other bolts quite easily) and an nice air impact wrench for the serious stuff like axle nuts (the 996TT is torqued to 350ft/lbs if I remember correctly and the air tool took it off in literally 2-3 seconds).
Amen to that. You haven't seen hard to break until you try to take the crank pulley bolt off a Honda Pilot/Odyssey. I swear I've had my IR TiMax gun cranked to the max and it still took 5 mins of swearing to get it loose.

My last service (excluding oil change) was at the dealer (the collection coral cables). But they didn't touch the tranny... It must have been before I owned the car.
