I went from the Sumi's in stock 996TT sizes to the 'older' PS2s in GT2 sizes.

I only street drove the Sumis + 4 AutoX's.
I've street driven the PS2s and done 3 DE's.

The Sumi's overheated and got greasy at the AutoX by the 4th run each time. Pressures were ~38/40.

The PS2s haven't overheated yet, ever. Including the VIR runs at 150+

Wish I'd tried them at the same sizes and at AutoX too for a better comparison (maybe tires get overheated faster at AutoX??? I don't know) but from what I can tell the PS2s are a better tire. I'm gonna get some R888s for DE, but I'll still be getting PS2s for street duty.

Henry

I've got the Hankooks on my M5 and they are great. VERY quiet.

For the turbo I think the Bridgestone RE05A's are the best bang for the buck. I had great luck with them at nearly 700whp.

I just picked up a set of these from a forum member. I'm glad to hear some positive feedback on them. Street use only until I need a top speed tire. What rubber is everyone using for 200+ MPH?

Alot of people seem to be running Toyo R888's.

I have used the Bridgestone REO5A's at the mile at speeds up to 200 with no problems.

I have the Ecsta XS and they are only slippery when wet. They are some of the stickiest dry performance tires I have ever tried.

True the Sumi's will overheat if you don't watch the tire pressure closely.

I changed out my PS2s about 200 miles ago for the V12s. I haven't tracked yet, but on the street, I can't tell the difference.

Good for the street, good wet traction, horrible on track. Good luck.

Shredder -

The V12 and the Sumitomo are my two best sellers for 996. There is a ton of feedback on both of them here and on Rennlist with a search. The Sumitomo I believe is a better, more stable dry tire. The v12 is more comfortable and better in the rain, but not quite as good a dry performer as the Z III is. For the money, either has almost all of the performance the average street driver needs, and at half the price of Michelins.

Please give me a call if I can answer questions or to order. Thanks.

I'm on my 2nd set of Hankooks (295/30/18's). They're very good tires. As for buying on "ebay" I'd resist the urge since you have no guarantee of the manufacture date, condition or load that the tire was subjected to.

Replaced some beat up MPSCups with these V12s and was immediately impressed with this tire set. The Cups were beat but still had tread left. They were loud and rough on the street. Granted with proper pride pressure pretty good on track, but after a few days they were used up.

I tracks the V12s last month and ran my fastest times at Laguna, bu have improved some skills. They howls and slid- but were pretty controlable/predictable. I would use these on the street ALL day long, but for track you really want something more purpose built (HooHoos).

Fantastic deal for he price. I also ran Sumis with Old PS2s on front and that was very dangerous. ABS kicked in everywhere and I was very scary to drive.

Good luck and let us know what you with. I would like to get some decent street wheels and put V12s on them with stock hollows with Hoosiers. Will ask the birthday fairy.

AutoX peeps love V12s and I have them on my 996TT. Great ride and good traction. You want a good tire at an awesome price then pick them. You want pure performance and cost is not an issue then get something better.
