My 996TT ownership experience thus far

Bought my 996TT end of March, drove it home, @900 miles - was a blast!
Week 1 = Enjoyed getting to know her
Week 2 = Vacation, no driving
Week 3 = More fun, let friends drive her
Week 4 & 5 = Work travel
Week 6 & 7 = Work travel and in the shop to find the source of a small power steering leak, nothing conclusive.
Week 8 = Some driving fun, replaced front brakes and rear tires for upcoming DE
Week 9 = Work travel
Week 10 = In another shop - source of leak found...cannot fix in time for track day
Week 11 = Road Atlanta - tons of fun! Thoroughly enjoyed it
Week 12 = In the shop to replace power steering pump ($1,100 part!), also found some degradation of coolant hose connections - will weld a few of the common failure ones
Next week I travel again

Cannot wait until things settle down and I can 'really' enjoy my ownership. I am confident that after this round of repairs, I should have some smooth sailing. Thank goodness my wife is supportive!
Did not expect @$5k out of the gate.

How many miles does the car have?

I bought mine the 3rd week of February with 45,200 miles. It has almost 49k on the clock and all I've done is fill it up with gas a whole lot of times. Well, besides the Switzer tune and exhaust.

Tomorrow it goes in for the first repair, the N75 valve, a $26.00 part failed.

So, besides brakes and tires the only real issue was a power steering pump? Was that stuff really 5k?

It sounds like your on the way now at least. Good luck, I hope everything works out this time and you get many trouble free miles.

Bought it with 61k, has 63k now. From the big picture point of view - I'm not upset. Just poor timing. I have all of the mods I could ever want, no need for anything else aside from normal maintenance now.

Power steering thing was a surprise ($1,700), welding some coolant pipes ($1,500) are expected over time (IMO), brakes and tires ($1k) - I knew about prior to purchase. Also had a fan sensor get replaced and oil change plus I stocked up on supplies for future oil changes ($300), new front tires ($400) to match the rears, plus some other doo-dads...yes, mostly 'routine' things.

Will be glad to get her back so I can beat her like there's no tomorrow.
