Do FVD have a specific tune for the K16/16G Turbos?

My car is in getting one at the moment but when I've tried to get some info on the site it appears that people don't think they have a specific file for the K16/16G turbos.


Can anybody confirm they have?

 

Im pretty sure they dont as I had their flash on my stock k16's and when I went to a K24/18G they didn't have anything for that setup. I think they just stick with oem borg warner stuff like the k24/26 or k16/24 hybrids. My suggestion is to call EPL they'll have the flash you want and the best customer support to go along with it.

I rang them up in Germany yesterday and they didn't really seem too familiar with the K16/16G Turbo, which I found strange as there a reputable tuner and these turbos are quite old.

 

About a year ago. Yeah they don't mess with the Mitsubishi hybrid stuff. Just Borg Warner as far as I know.

 

The small 16g wheel which nearly every 16g upgrade uses is very similar in flow capacity to the BW 2280 (997 GT2) compressor wheel. You may want to see if they have a flash for a K16/2280.

Il have to deal with it on Monday as there closed for weekend. I'm a bit concerned/PO'd because I left the car into a garage to be remapped, I was told FVD are great etc and they'd defo have a remap for these Turbos. I left the car in for a week as I was away for a week.


The car was remapped when I was away. When I got back I done some research to see what exact power the FVD map would produce, only to find out that they might not have a map for the 16/16G Turbo. So I rang them and they were not to familiar with it and asked if I could send them the flow rates for the Turbo's, which is supposedly 35lbs/min


The car is already remapped but I haven't collected it yet.


I want an exact map for K16/16G Turbos, I'm not paying 2K Euros for something "close".......

 

why dont you use one of the us tuners ?

 

Just to be thorough, whose 16g's do you have? There are several variants of the 16g wheel, one of which (evo 3) has higher a flow capability than the 18g.

FWIW, unless FVD is tuning the car on a Maha dyno or something similar, the map isn't going to be exact. When they see the 16g compressor map, you're going to get a ballpark map -from there you can datalog and they should be willing to fine tune from there.
