Buying used coil overs...good idea or?
Get them inspected by the best suspension/race shop in your area. Get them on a shock dyno before installation. Once installed make sure they do a good test drive before alignment and rake adjustments. Good luck on them.
Buying used coilovers are a risk. My advice is price a rebuild on the components before you buy. If you are one of those people that wants everything new shiny and fresh, don't buy used. Otherwise it will drive you nuts and you will **** off everyone around you by whining. :P
I picked up a set of H&R coilovers for my car for $750 that had ~2000 miles on them. When I got them and knocked the dust off of them they looked new. The fact of the matter is somebody can tell you they have 2000 miles and they really have 20k. It will take an investigation and knowing what you are looking at to determine if you are getting a good set and not garbage. The funny thing about mine was the front shocks were the old style H&Rs with the stock type of spring perch and I was able to get H&R to send the new updated front shocks and springs for no cost. If you are expecting to get a brand new mint suspension on a used budget you are setting yourself up for failure.

It is a definitely a risk. I have bought used coilovers for other platforms, but when it came time to buy for my 996tt I went new. When you are looking at close to $2000 for a set of used coilovers like V3s or PSS10s I'd bite the bullet and go new since there are no guarantees. If you find a great deal, ask lots of questions, get detailed pics, buy local so you can see and test the shocks if possible and be sure the price point is low enough that you have room to have them rebuilt if need be - below what they go for new!
Honestly, try vivid or modbargains... they have some great pricing on new products!
Don't skimp on suspension, wheels or tires!

He hasn't responded because you can't buy them for that. I'm looking also, and the best price so far is tire rack at $2750.
I'd say only do it when you can trust the buyer. Some people simply buy a suspension, feel it's too harsh (or don't like it for whatever reason) and sell it again to get something else. Those are probably the best deals.
