3rd gear? I am making a l bit more power than this and having a tough time keeping the car pointed in the right direction on full throttle. I am running ccw classics that are 12.5 in the rear with 315/30/18 azenis's. They are worn and will be replaced, I am just not sure as to how much new tires will cut down the wheel spin.
How about you high horse power gt2 guys?

i am not hooking at all now. New tires first. then i will look in the alignment.
This and get rid of the falkens. I couldn't set a good lap at Laguna seca with falkens. Great tires for the first 300-400 miles, after that, they are a brick. 0 grip even with flash/ exhaust.
Thats probably the problem right there. I am thinkng about getting the Nitto 555dr, Only down fall is that drag radials do no last on the street. I am not very familar though on the length of time 555dr's would last, compared to other dr's

I like all of those and only ones i would recommend.
I run Conti DW's...I am a street and stop light guy not not a track road racer..I run 40 psi cold in the rear 295/35/18s..Like I said, no problem with 2nd gear or power shifts from 1st to 2nd. 1st gear punch depends on temp and road but still hooks good most of the time.
But when I do go to the drag strip I will put on some stickier tires for a harder launch out of the gate....

I dynoed at 530 AWHP but the car spin will through 1st and 2nd well into the time the tires warm up. I run cheap 315/25 on my 19s though. What spins the tires is the low mid range torque. My car will hit the full 1.3 bar at 3,000 RPM.
Better tires and Sambo's advice will help a lot. I hear r888s are the cat's meow but have never tried them personally. I think the Hankook RS2/RS3 tires are absolutely fantastic for the price. Sambo knows his shat BTW I would take his advice.
Try running lower pressures as well. Believe it or not the recommended pressures on the GT2 is 5 psi lower all around.

For road track... 32 hot front 33 hot rear ...no more than 34 hot in the rear. No grip.
Do the R888, i yanked the wheels with them and found they work best at 20psi you may go up to 23-24 since i dont think your making the same torque.
they will last a while as long as you inflate them back to 34-37 on the daily drive.

My 315 PS2 are just OK, can't really recommend them. 2nd and 3td are a bit difficult though with lots of spin.
I would love to switch to R888, but I am concerned about wet performance in standing highway water.
Can anyone comment on R888's in heavy rain?
