Mechanics Gloves?

When I work on the car I always end up filthy

Does anybody use mechanics gloves, and if so, would you recommend them

I'm not keen on gloves, and like to feel what's going on, but I'm not sure I can take much more hand scrubbing

I use them all the time. While you lose a bit of tactile feedback, I don't think I would ever really go without them anymore. I'm like you, I like to feel what I'm working on, and before I used the Mechanix ones, I was using nitrile gloves, but had to swap them constantly because they would tear/rip. The mechanix are really sturdy. I highly recommend them.

The black thicker nitrile gloves from harbor freight..they work well, as was said the thin ones I like better but they do rip easy. So for me its usually none and scrub the hands..lol

Depends what I am working ON. Big stuff, suspension, disassembly- gloves. Finer stuff, clean parts- skin.

Usually cheap, stretch Mechanix at HomeDepot.

gsr355 is infamous around these parts
I've been a mechanic for the last 10 years and have tried everything to keep my hands clean. My glove of choice the the microflex safegrip latex gloves. They are very thick compared to most gloves and a pair can usually last me a full work day unless it's gets snagged on a sharp edge.

That's what I use. I didnt care for the residual dirt and grime from the previous job on my new job with reusable gloves. Latex also maintains as close to the natural feel as possible. Comes in a box of 100 I think, for a reasonable price.
