I was thinking like my996tt. For those of us sub 700hp, would running anything higher than 93 make that much of a difference? I am making about 530-550ish to the crank (haven't dynoed, just conservatively adding up the power numbers from my various mods), would running race fuel be that beneficial? I remember reading that the higher octane, the colder the spark needs to be or something like that, so presuming I'm on stock plugs/injectors, wouldn't my car just be wasting it?

E85 = better than C16 for a fraction of the price. Just make sure your fuel system and ECU can handle it (lines, pumps, regulator, etc). I run the PRO EFI with full flex fuel on the Supra. E85 is $2.99 a gallon here in the Midwest and is very plentiful. Much less than the $13.00 a gallon that C16 cost and it won't foul out your plugs or wideband O2 sensors like leaded race fuel does after time.

I would run e85 for sure. The R+M octane rating is 104, but, because you need 40% more fuel to make the same power as gas, you cool the cylinder temp down and reduce hot spots that cause detonation. This allows you to advance the timing as if you had c16 in the tank. We are around $3.20 a gallon which is way cheaper than 100 octane. As 1a1 mentioned, you just need to make sure your compatible with e85 and you have enough pump to deliver the extra 40%. I would stay away from meth unless you are using a direct port system and not a fogger. This nice thing about e85 is that it is direct port thru the injector. No ancillary parts to fail at the wrong time. You don't have to continually check you meth tank to see the level, it's all done on the dash with the factory gauge.
