Aquamist fail safe: What will trigger the failsafe?

Boost leak, Bad maf? low fluid (of course) poor running motor? I think i may have developed a slight boost leak again, I hear a ever so slight whaaapsssshhhh after letting off of the throttle. I will look into that asap ( i have a feeling that is most likely the problem). But out of the blue my aquamist kit blinks the yellow light and prevents me from boosting more than .9 bar of boost (wastegate failsafe level). Car is running great with no stored codes in the ecu or check engine lights. Great idle, sound power everything.

Also one odd thing i noticed is that at idle the flow gauge was fully lit red all the way to the B as if i was injecting at idle??

Any Help would be great. --Rob

The fail safes are: a float switch in the tank (low fluid level), and a flow switch in the engine bay (burst or broken line). If either or both of these conditions are met, the ECU sets the wastegates back to spring pressure.(.8bar). Have you disconnected your pump? Is it running backward and NOT pumping meth? It seems like it is working backwards? Have you disconnected anything at all? I seem to recall you've just done a lot of work on the car. Check all your wiring and connections? A yellow light on the gauge means your out of meth.

yup. level can trigger, and flow can trigger too. clogged nozzles or failing flow sensor

full throttle gives me the yellow i made sure the tank is completely full and the filter below the tank is clean.

I never was really in the area of the meth kit when working on the car. It was working last week.

Do float switches go bad, i am running 100% meth.

on a side note, i just found the line going into the FAV (sensor by the f pipe) was leaking, I'll go for a spin and report back :-)

Sounds like the flow sensor...

fast acting valve? by the F pipe? Why do you say that? Also do you remember what kit you had installed. I took the box out looking for a purge switch and vaguely remember seeing hfs-1??

Yep. HSF-1. Aquamist kit. Older style, but works very well. Not sure what the problem is...Float switch is just a switch...one way is on, the other way is off...

The "fast acting valve" I think is the actual solenoid that does the squirting. You can test the system by putting in a jumper in the head unit. Check paperwork...

The line feeding the flow FAV and flow sensor is leaking, I am sure the flow sensor is detecting the leak and preventing it from injecting. The fitting that is leaking is a 90 degree quick fit from the pump, Do you guys think i can use one off of my AEM kit? Seems to be the same??

Side note.... that "should" be the problem...Right?

Well my assumption was wrong the AEM quick disconnect is different and will not fit. For starters it leaks meth through the threads of the valve. Secondly the line will not always stay inside the quick fitting.

Just ordered a new inline valve with the new built in all metal fittings from Jeff at howerton engineering.
