2005 X50 Mods

Would like some input, I have read the countless threads on exhaust systems and there are many opinions. That said, I recently bought an 2005 X50 Cabriolet and have done a UMW tune on it so far.

I have an opportunity to acquire a used Europipe Stage 2 Quiet at a good price and have 2 questions;

1. Of those that have this exhaust how much louder is it as compared to stock. My wife drives this car often and is OK with a little louder but really likes how quiet the car is stock. Given this is a cab and we make long drives with the car it needs to be docile sounding

2. Could you really feel a performance improvement or is it a placebo effect?

Thanks all!

The EP2 Quiet is an excellent choice IMHO. When you are just driving around it's not loud at all...when you step on it it comes to life. As far as performance, Kevin could discuss this with you. You might need some modification to the tune with the freer flowing exhaust.

05 Cab with an EP 2 Loud. I was deliberating the same question before my purchase. Honestly, it could be louder and I would not object. You can still carry on a conversation with your front seat passenger, should you choose, or listen to music with the top down at highway speeds. You appreciate the spool of your turbos with greater detail but as to performance ... 100 cell cats so less resistance, and less weight. Overall significant performance gains are negligible.

EPs at a bargin price, are a rarity.

Try it. It is one of the quietest quality systems on the market. And true, if it is too loud you will have no issues selling it. As for power, for sure you will pick up another 25hp and tq or so. It will feel like you pumped in race fuel. Or a 300lb passenger got out! Then there is the fact that your turbo's will spool even faster. A must.
