Tubi Exhaust
I had a tubi exhaust on my gallardo, sounded great... I heard one 996tt with a tubi.. but it didn't really do anything for me... it didnt sound bad, but I have heard better sounding exhausts on a 996tt
Heard one on a 997 T car that we are prototyping our exhaust, it sounds good but not $5,000 good. IMO.
If I could just add....most people don't realize that the Porsche line for Tubi is really designed by us here at Champion, not at Tubi headquarters in Italy. We typically prototype the systems here to our specs, then send them off to Italy for final production.
For the 996 Turbo, we don't make a cat-less system, which has sort of limited Tubi's popularity among 996TT owners. If you want big power, you gotta get rid of your cats, and we don't offer a cat-less solution. This is mostly because our performance product lineup is really focused on the 997 generation and newer. Price is also a factor obviously. All Tubi exhausts are hand made in Italy, which inherently comes at a higher cost then some of the alternatives.
The 997 Turbo lineup is a different story. We take a lot of pride in the R&D we've put into those systems. Both our "street" and "race" systems have been tested against a few of our competitors, and have always come out on top. Both use uniquely designed center mufflers to maximize flow depending on whether there are cats or not. We also took a lot of time creating a unique sound....which some people love, and others totally hate. Our exhausts are higher pitched and raspy, which we felt should be a characteristic of the Porsche sound that doesn't get lost. Still, some people prefer the deeper, even tone of some competitors. That's why there are so many good choices out there.

Tom, what type of cats come with the system?
I guess I should have posted this in the original post:
My car came with the tubi and I dig the sound except for the drone from 2,000-2,200 rpms, which is a very narrow range and easy to get out of. I get lots of compliments on the tips as well.
The only sniglet is when I start the car for the first time and it goes thru its warm up process, the exhaust shakes my neighbors windows and wakes up my kids. After 45 seconds, it settles down, but If I know Im taking her out late, I warm her up before the kids go to bed.

I have a Tubi on mine that came with the car. It sounds great when I start it up but never really know how it sounds as I drive since I'm always driving and not outside observing.
I just did my 30K major. Here's some pix of the car.
