996tt OEM sport tips

Can you retrofit the sport tips of the '02tt and up onto an '01tt?

You mean these? Yes I believe they were option #X54. Simple clamp on around exhaust pipe. If you're removing from an existing exhaust, make sure you use penetrating oil before trying to loosen the clamp bolts, and use anti-seize when re-installing.

Yep, those are the ones! Is there enough room to get under the car and go to work or do I need to get the car elevated?

Jay, I just peaked under the car, and I would probably not raise the car. Maybe a set of ramps at most if you have em, but the bolt heads are on the bottom, so you can access it lying down. You will probably need a "snorkel" on the can of penetrating oil to reach the fixed portion of the clamp. Just to make sure, you are not planning on replacing the whole exhaust, correct? Just unclamping your "oval" tips and putting the 4 hole tips on? IMHO, no jacking is necessary. Good luck

Yep, just changing the oval tips out. Thanks for the help, I'll go get some penetrating oil, as well as anti-seize, from the store

Did you already buy a set of the sport tips? I have a set in pretty much perfect condition for sale from when I swapped my exhaust. I'll take $200 plus shipping for them which is pretty darn cheap!
