Pad Dampers on Stock pads

After many years of running Pagids, I'm going back to stock pads. Are the front and rear pad dampers necessary with stock pads (haven't had them on with the Pagids)?
Thanks.

I used to run them and they melt when the car is driven hard. I've had no issues running without them on street or track with Endless and PFC pads. I just put some high temp 3000F ceramic grease on the back of the pad and have had no noise issues. Works good, lasts a long time.....

Thanks for the lube recommendation, though I'd still like to know if I can do without pad dampers on stock pads (as I do with pagids) ie is there a fitment etc issue?

There shouldn't be a fitment issue, but of course it's not recommended. Some people do run without on stock pads, I really don't see an advantage, except for about pound of weight. More of a disadvantage in my opinion with the noise you might experience, the grease solution might be something to look into though.

@pwdrhound How often do you Track ? I have not seen any melt yet. I know there is a plastic coating that will occasionally come off, but I have not seen anything detrimental.

I track about 20 days per year. Since using the ceramic grease I've had zero noise issues but I also very lightly bevel the edges of the pads before I put them in. If you drive the car hard enough to have small cracks in your stock cross drilled rotors the you will melt the dampeners. I run 350mm floating slotted rotors with cup car cooling ducts and the brakes still get hot enough to burn up the rubber dust seals on the caliper pistons in a few track days. And the dampers make swapping pads a pain. YMMV.....

Thanks for your replies...I was looking to save the extra $150 on dampers, I'll look into the grease option.
